Invitation to Islam

To any non-Muslims that might be reading this, this is an invitation to Islam. If you don’t know what Islam is and what it teaches, then continue reading below.

(Clicking on the links will take you to the relevant Qur’anic verses which substantiate what is said. You can click on the button in the bottom left to listen to their recitation.)

What is Islam?

It’s a way of life. It means ‘submission’.

–

Who are Muslims?

Those who submit their wills to the Will of God.

–

Is Islam a religion for Arabs?

No. The majority of Muslims are not even Arab.

–

What does Islam teach?

That there is only One God. And that none deserves to be worshiped except Him.   (47: 19)

–

How do you even know that God exists?

All of existence is a testament to His existence. (3: 190, 41: 53, 51: 20 – 21)

–

Who is God?

He is the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious, the Lord and Sustainer of all the universes. He is One. Everything in existence is in need of Him; He is in need of nothing.  (1: 1 – 2, 112: 1 – 4)

And how do you know all this? How do you know who He is?

By reading the Revelation He gave us.

Assalamu alikum habibti, I was thinking that maybe you can link http://discoverrealbeauty.wordpress.com for the non-Muslims to access and have a quick look on what Islam is about, it’s part of a project I’ve thought to make ‘Islam in 30 days’, check the About page in sha’Allah.

      Peace Christopher,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
You are correct that it is impossible for the wives of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم to literally be the mothers of all the believers. However, the question is invalid as this is not what the phrase means. The term ‘mothers of the believers’ (ummahaatul ul Muʾminīn in Arabic) is a title of respect given to the wives of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم given their status as the wives of the Prophet of Allah. They are role models for the ummah due to their faith, piety and trust in Allah. I hope this clears your confusion.

    Hi again Theresa,

Just so you know, I have decided to dedicate an actual blog post to issues which will be of interest to you, rather than just replying to your comment here. Please watch this space- I want to offer you good quality advice so I am trying to avoid a rushed response :).
