A 100% Guarantee

by Simple Muslimah

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

If you conducted a survey asking individuals who they love more than anyone, there are certain categories of people who are probably going to come up again and again- parents, spouses and children being just a few.  If you asked me, none of those would feature in my answer.

I would respond with: Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم .

And I wouldn’t be alone; part of faith is loving the final Messenger of Allah more than any other human being so it is a characteristic of those who submit to Islam that Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم  is the most beloved to them of all Allah’s creation.

In my humble opinion it is impossible for anyone who reads about the life of Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم  to not love him.  If you think I’m exaggerating, why not take up the challenge and read his seerah?  Check out the Recommended Reading page of the blog inshaAllah.

Loving Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم  doesn’t just mean harbouring an emotion in our hearts though, but also following his teachings. I can make a 100% guarantee to you: there has never been, and never will be, an individual on this earth whose followers attempt to implement his teachings and way of life more than Muhammad

Say [Muhammad], ‘If you love God, follow me, and God will love you and forgive you your sins; God is most forgiving, most merciful’.

(Surah Al Imran: 31)

The way he walked, talked, ate, drank, worshipped, treated others, laughed, smiled, supplicated and the list goes on- there isn’t an aspect of the lifestyle of Muhammad  صلى الله عليه و سلم  that Muslims do not attempt to imitate (except for matters in which the Prophet was given special exemption by Allah).
